I kind of had some reservations about watching this movie because I wasn’t really sure what they were going to detail as far as the day was concerned. I wouldn’t say that I “liked” it as much as I would say I was touched by it.
It was pretty much close to a documentary of two Port Authority Police officers, John McLoughlin (Nicolas Cage) and Will Jimeno (Michael Peña) who became trapped under the rubble after the buildings came down. It was truly amazing. What I recommend doing is watching it the first time and then watch it again with the commentary of Will Jimeno and a couple his rescuers.
You can then have an idea of what was going on in their minds as they were trapped. Jimeno said during the commentary that the movie was 95% accurate and Oliver Stone did a great job.
